It might sound quite obvious when you think about it but it has now been proven that if you're overweight, shedding the excess pounds will increase your testosterone levels. This is something that was specifically researched and was presented at the Endocrine Society's 2012 meeting.

They showed that overweight men are more likely to have low testosterone levels to begin with. This is important information as we can then work on ways to increase your body's testosterone production when you need it most. Normal levels of testosterone in men are between 230-1000 ng/dL and it is highly recommended that you test your own levels to find out where on the scale you are.

Something that has now been conclusively shown to be true is that the higher your fat the lower your testosterone will be. When the body-fat is high your testosterone levels will be lower. If this is the case then we need to look at ways of increasing your testosterone levels naturally. Research has now shown that when men sleep 5 hours or less every night their testosterone levels drop by 10 to 15%.

You should always make sure that you always get between 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night, it also helps to to nap during the day. It is vitally important that you eat the healthy fats required because testosterone is made from fats. You need to make sure that you take in things like coconut oil or even raw olive oil.

But foods like nuts and avocado or fish oil and lean animal meats will always help to allow your daily production of testosterone to be raised. But more importantly this will ensure that there are high enough levels of good cholesterol to support proper testosterone production functioning.

You need to limit your alcohol intake especially beer because alcohol consumption will definitely affect your testosterone levels. Obviously having too much beer also will affect your waistline so it is compounded with the increase in fat where the more fat you have the lower your T levels will be.

Something else that you need to be aware of if you want to naturally increase your testosterone levels. Environmental estrogens are dangerous when it comes to testosterone levels as they are directly associated with the chemical Xenoestrogen which is a chemical that can mimic the estrogen in the body.

Research shows that when exposed to the Xenoestrogen our testosterone levels will drop significantly. The problem is that we have Xenoestrogens everywhere, they are all around us in the form of plastic, toothpaste, even in our foods that we eat daily. This is why it is so important to always make sure, where possible to eat organically grown produce.

In conclusion it needs to be added here that eating protein on a regular basis as well as to eat vegetables regularly will have a dramatic effect on your own natural testosterone levels. Simply taking control of the carbohydrates that you eat will have an immediate effect on your testosterone levels.
